Out of the 15 Jakarta residents who claimed compensation after suffering losses due to fallen trees recently, only six have had their requests processed, the city administration has said.
“The others are not yet able to have their compensation requests processed because they lack some requirements,” Cemetery and Parks Agency's partnership development section chief Winarto said Sunday, as quoted by tribunnews.com.
He explained that the list of requirements needed to claim for compensation included an insurance compensation claim letter, a photo of the incident, a police reference letter and a visum letter from a doctor for any injuries or death caused by the accident.
Heavy rain accompanied by strong winds in Jakarta on Thursday brought down many trees and advertising billboards. According to data from the city administration's public relations office, a total of 168 trees were uprooted and a further 150 damaged by the storm.
